My approach

My main goal is for each student to have a positive and happy early experience with guitar and music. My teaching approach is grounded in listening skills, enjoyment, positive reinforcement, and embodied musical development. Some of our activities include rhythmic training and call-and-response activities which help students develop strong foundations and musical confidence. In this way, reading and music literacy are introduced gradually alongside more direct and engaging methods of learning to play and understand music. My goal is for every student to have a positive personal experience with guitar and music.

The University of Texas at Austin — Graduate Teaching Assistant. Teaching small jazz ensembles and occasionally substitute teaching lecture classes (music theory, jazz improvisation, etc).

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School (since 2019)
