Alan Retamozo is an active composer-guitarist based out of Austin, TX. His composition and performance experience includes work with:

ACL Live at the Moody Theater, Adam Rudolph, Joshua Banbury, Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Raven Chacon, Austin New Music Co-op, Austin Classical Guitar, Steve Parker, Proyecto Teatro, The University of Texas Jazz Orchestra and New Music Ensemble, New Media Art and Sound Summit (COTFG), Katherine Vaughn, Density 512, Liminal Sound Series, SoundSpace Series at the Blanton Museum of Art, and Sonic Transmissions. He was co-founder and guitarist/composer/audio editor with Less Than <10 Music from 2020-2022 and he is Co-Creative Director at Church of the Friendly Ghost (COTFG) in Austin, TX.

Coming from a jazz background, Alan’s work focuses on creative group improvisation, graphic and experimental notation, and conductor-led spontaneous group composition as well as traditional systems of notation. He holds degrees in jazz composition from Berklee College of Music (BA) and the University of Texas, Butler School of Music (MM).

As a composer/arranger, Alan has extensive experience scoring for orchestral and chamber jazz and classical ensembles as well as multi-media, dance, and electronic formats. His current professional trajectory is in film and media scoring.
